This year Third Age is again entering the women’s mini marathon and we are inviting you to run or walk with us on June 4, 2012.
The Flora Women’s Mini Martathon began 29 years ago and has grown to become one of the foremost women’s sporting events in the world. You will be joining over fifty thousand women in a wonderful event. Past participants talk of the glow of achievement and the fun of participation.
Once again TV3’s Sybil Mulcahy is running for Third Age on June 4. "I'm looking forward to putting on my running shoes again for Third Age, and hope to see many of you there. Let's make it a great day", says Sybil

Third Age is a national organistion which promotes the value of older people in communities throughout Ireland. Third Age has over 1,000 older volunteers working variously as active listeners, tutors, befrienders, advocates, nutritionists and more. We will be raising money for one of our programmes, Senior Help Line, a national telephone helpline for older people by older people. Senior Help Line had almost 10,000 calls last year, many from older people who describe us as their life line. With more funds we could extend our opening hours.
In order to be able to run in the mini marthon, you must register for the event. People who turn up unregistered will not be allowed to run. Registering can be done online or by filling out an entry form in the Evening Herald. Then contact us by post, phone or email. We will provide you with a sponsorship card and a Third Age tshirt which we ask you to wear with pride. On the day we will provide a safe and convenient city centre venue place to store your belongings, and we will host a post marathon party to celebrate.
So take up the Third Age challenge, get fundraising, get active and register today. We look forward to meeting you on June 4, 2012.
Supporting the work of Third Age benefits people of all ages throughout Ireland.
