Bealtaine

Age & Opportunity’s national festival celebrating creativity in older people takes place each May. Third Age members are fully involved with event planning, beginning each spring. In past years, members took part in ballroom dancing, story telling, visited cinema and theatre. In 2010 members developed a programme of songs from well-known musicals, and put together their own comedy sketch which they performed for the residents of St Joseph’s Hospital. Members also worked with drama teacher, Richie Ball, on a short play which was performed in Temple Bar Theatre, Dublin.
