ANOTHER AWARD FOR FAILTE ISTEACH
Fáilte Isteach’s Head of National Development, Liam Carey accepted a Diverse Ireland Award on behalf of all the volunteers across the country whose enthusiasm and hard work, he says, has been recognised – again. “This award is for our volunteers, men and women of all ages from communities all over Ireland who come on cold nights, week after week, to offer practical help to new migrants, getting to know them and making them feel part of their own communities,” he said.
Established by the Innovation Centre, the Diverse Ireland Awards have been created to raise awareness of the positive advancements around immigrant integration in Ireland. The awards help people learn more about the important work being done in integration, and honour the efforts of those who are creating stronger, more unified and successful communities. The Integration Centre is a non-governmental organisation which is committed to the integration and inclusion of people from immigrant backgrounds in Ireland.
Fáilte Isteach has already won a number of awards, most notably Social Entrepreneurs Level One and Two Awards, Media and Multicultural Awards, and was the recipient of an Arthur Guinness Fund, a initiative that supports the big ideas and the passion for community of social entrepreneurs.
