The Third Age bus
Appointment Only
The rural nature of our community, lack of local transport, the age and health status of many of our members can increase the reality of social isolation and exclusion. In this context, the Third Age Bus is a vital link. Our bus can accommodate up to eight passengers. To book, telephone (046) 955 8231 between 9am – 5pm
Drop-in centre
Third Age acts as a drop in centre, where members can call in at any time. Tea, coffee, biscuits and company are always available. Located in the Primary Care Centre and beside the GP surgery, members who attend appointments fasting are welcome to call in afterwards for breakfast.
Library
Third Age operates a book, CD and video library for members. Many of our books have been donated by the County Library in Trim and we thank them for this service.
Seniors Alert Scheme
The Seniors Alert Scheme provides funding for a free personal monitored alarm for people aged 65 and older and of limited means. The scheme is intended to support older people to live securely and independently in their homes.
All equipment and installation under the scheme is free. The alarm monitoring service is free for the first year. After the first year, you will be asked to pay the annual monitoring fee.
